finished but there's still quite a crowd. it's day 2 for the giants hosting second game of the playoffs. live at at&t park in the middle of all the action, linda. >> reporter: nothing like hearing the roar of a crowd inside a baseball stadium in post season play. they are at it already. a few minutes away from the first pitch. this is a game that's going to be catching a really crazy day in san francisco. from a parade celebrating heritage day. to the castro street fair celebrating everything. there was no shortage of things to do for wild weekend day 2 in san francisco. america's cup racing continues in the bay waters. the blue angels in the sky. and bluegrass in the park.

and while 49er red rained at the park. then last but not least, orange october at at&t park as giant's fans fill the stadium and hope their boys slam it to that other red team in town. >> just a crazy day. crazy weekend in the city. >> it was great. two and a half million people coming in. >> and you were one of them. >> hopefully. >> despite the millions of people in the city today, it went pretty smoothly. out here at china basin, i only saw one arrest so far. >> that's good. and the crowds along the street is that clearing up? >> reporter: i'm sorry. i didn't hear that . >> the crowds along the street, are they clearing out? >> reporter: they are still pouring into the park. i don't know why these people are just

coming in now. the festivities are going on. we saw some of the fly over of the jets going over. they are getting ready. first pitch in just about two minutes. >> thanks much. how are the roads looking right now? >> we started off seeing a few trouble spots. not too long ago about a half hour ago. golden gate bridge really saw delays northbound out of san francisco. a lot of the stuff was starting to wrap up. that's where we saw the brunt of delays. i'm going to show you golden gate bridge right now. it is starting to improve. traffic getting lighter on that northbound side. southbound not seeing any delays. just to run through things right now. lower deck of the bay bridge. yellow and red here. slow speeds as you work away. out of san francisco towards the east bay. slow speeds through there. lots of slow and go conditions along 101

as well. and speeds dipping at 13 miles per hour. this is near hospital curve along 101. and on south 101, 49ers game wrapped up a while ago. still seeing delays southbound 101. so expect those conditions to last a little while longer and as linda said, stranglers headed toward the ballpark. back to you. >> thank you. with so many warnings about possible traffic jams, people listened and took public transportation. public transit hit record numbers. ann shows us with parking as high as $80 in the city, people were leaving the car at home. >> would you have even thought of driving into the city today? >> no, not at all. >> most people heard the advice, don't drive to san francisco this weekend. >> every newspaper, every television station, yes, we heard them all.

>> from channel 5 matter of fact. >> hundreds of thousands opted for bart. the old record was under 288,000 set in 2007 when the bay bridge was closed. the average for saturdays this year 202,000. >> more money for us to reinvest in the system. new train cars, repairing the system we already have. speaking of money, that's another reason to stay out of the car. >> for gas reasons, for the price of the gas. >> also hitting new record highs this weekend in california. what better time to take cal train. >> going to be safe. >> others traded traffic for a boat. >> we said let's just relax on the ferry boat and have a great time. >> those who drove paid a premium. many car lots jacked

up the prices for the weekend. >> $30. >> are you glad you didn't drive? >> this couple paid the piper. >> little more than what i expected.. >> near the ballpark we found parking up to $80. hundreds of thousands, not parking was the easiest way to go. in san francisco, anne, cbs 5. >> as the search continues for whoever killed a woman, the family is turning to social media to get the word out. susie ko was found dead friday night. the family set up a web site to get tips and leads. they've put the word out on facebook and twitter. >> she was attacked. she was murdered. inside the house. >> i'm glad that we all have the supporters here to honor her. she was a great woman. the family's car was stolen

out of their garage. police are looking for a blue 2011 subaru out back with license plate. contact police with any information. taking a stand despite attempts to end the movement. 24 hour rally is underway in front of san jose city hall. this is the group's first overnight protest since eviction last year. they'll stay posted until noon tomorrow and they hope for a peaceful demonstration. >> it let's everyone know that we are still here. actually, we never left. we have been active promoting the 99%'s rights and fighting against abuse through the industry throughout the whole year. we haven't done it with a visible camp. delayed response to mark the one year anniversary of the movement. >> san francisco's new catholic archbishop received a warm welcome today.

>> archbishop's first official visit was to saint francis church which was celebrate -- latino church members. followed by a multi-lingual mass. about a third of the perishes serve a large latino population. governor brown is taking action to bring down california's historically high gas prices. today he directed the resources board to take emergency steps to increase state's gas supply. he directed the board to immediately allow oil refineries to make an early transition to winter blent gasoline. and that's not typically sold until the end of the month. aaa says a gallon of regular is averaging $4.65 in the state. if you want to save cash, we're going to help. go to enter your zip

mr. obama has three events in la including a rally featuring george clooney, stevie wonder and jennifer hudson. 9 of those visits on this trip. tomorrow president obama will attend a campaign fundraiser at the bill graham civic auditorium in san francisco. final bay area visit before the election. already raised more than $30 million in california. earlier in the day, he'll be in the central valley to announce caesar should have ez national -- chavez national monument. battleground state of florida. he was confident he will win florida and move into the white house in january. later he stopped by a seafood restaurant to shake hands and pick up take out. food labeling is the

subject of a controversial initiative on the november november ballot. proposition 37 would require food -- both sides discussed the issue on cbs 5 this morning. supporters of proposition 37 say genetic engineering forces insec at this sized into food. opponents argue the fda says genetically engineered foods are safe to eat. >> genetically modified food or engineered ingredients are no different than any other type of ingredients or crop. that's why they don't require labeling today. >> we do believe genetically engineered food specifically are problematic. health concerns links to allergies and other affects that have been showing up. environmental problems. >> the latest polls show that voters favor problem significance 37 by a margin of 2-1. at this exact minute, it is official sundown.

we were lucky for the most part the weather cooperating with a busy weekend. >> couple days celebrating i headed to san jose where i participated in the half marathon. it warmed up there. the high temperature there 73 degrees. good evening, everybody. outside our cbs 5 weather camera picking up the

area of fog now developing along the immediate sea shore. current air temperatures standing at 60 in san francisco. to 69 in redwood city. highs from 62 in san francisco and 77 in sonoma. a good 5 to 8 below normal. tonight, overnight into the 40s and 50s. winds rotate to the south at 15. kind of breezy with westerly up to 15 and 20. what you need to know as you get ready to morning commute. that will be our theme for monday and a tad cooler and then our extended forecast has a chance of showers. a slim chance. it sits right here. area of low pressure is complex. computer models want to place it over the state by tuesday. producing a slight chance of rain showers especially to the south. right now if we see any rain it will not be measurable. it's not moving quickly. that could be a completely different

scenario with some scattered precipitation more widespread. into the 70s as we begin a brand new work week around the state of california and the valley. 63 monterey bay. your forecast, partly cloudy monday. 60s peninsula. 70s pretty common across the valley into morgan hill. around the band to 68. little bit further north to fremont into the upper 60s and low 70s. outside number will be 73 in brentwood, tracy, oakley and discovery bay. 67 in santa rosa. down from today's high of 74. there you have extended forecast a slight chance of a shower tuesday and wednesday. and then again to warmup as we wrap up to work week. that is your pinpoint forecast. let's talk football. >> you ran a half marathon. the 49ers ran a full marathon. i think they are still running. they were unbloofbable.

over the course of the a's need to come home and see if the fans can change course. >> last week and they took three games from the texas rangers and people didn't think they could do it. may just have to do it again. over the course of the season the a's have earned the nickname the come back kids. they are going to have to come back once more.

a's up 2-1 against detroit. there were two on, two out. sean pitching. and he did his job. pop fly. this will be the third out except no, the basket catch did not work. the tigers take it 3-2 lead. 8th inning. scored to tie it on a wild pitch. the very next pitch hit a home run. the a's take a 4-3 lead. bottom of the 8th, wild pitch. ryan cook, fast ball goes to the backdrop. scores game tied at 4. stayed that way until the bottom of the 9th. loaded the bases and don kelly hits a fly ball to the out field. is it deep enough. catches it, throws, no . the run scores and the tigers win 5-4. the a's are now on the brink of elimination. >> you just got to move on. if you let it stick, you won't be prepared to the best of your

capabilities on tuesday. you just got to let it go. he ended up making a basket catch that popped out. we're talking about a good center fielder again, covered a lot of ground to get to the ball, it ended up popping out. >> despite giving up 600 yards of offense last week the 49er's coach has called the defensive line the most talented. maybe the coaches just needed to see this for themselves. with the win the 49ers could pull in a first place tie. second quarter, alex smith led a rating of 156. look at the cut to the inside. touchdown 49ers. they are up 10 -3. right before the half, 49ers defense making plays. the tackle and the strip of the tight end kyle chandler recovers the football. the 49ers go to the end zone.

how do you leave this guy that wide open. 17-3 going into the half. second half they pile it on. 621 yards of offense . 4th quarter 24-3. 10 yard. 303 yards and 3 touchdowns. niners roll 45-3. >> great team victory. to give up three points in two weeks is incredible. offensive. could have been better . a lot of penalty yards. had great plays called back. that's the scary thing. could have been worse. >> we need to carry it on to the next game. i don't want to talk about this game so much. we have a big game next week. i'm amped to play next week. that game is over with. >> he's going to play next week. manning and the giants come calling. they hosted the browns first.

the rookie open behind two defenders. brown puts 14-0 just five minutes into the game. >> 7 yard score. one of his three touchdown receptions. giants win 41-27. teams wearing shirts honoring the coach who was diagnosed with leukemia this week. into the end zone. replays show wayne got the nose of the ball over the line and leads 30-27. but erin rogers gets the pack in field goal range and no. the colts win 30-27. very emotional win for indianapolis. >> manning versus brady. early 2nd. leading 7-0. tight end in the back of the end zone. one yard score to tie the game. manning throws for 345 yards and three touchdowns. third quarter on the 3rd and goal.
